Biography

Michael Addamo is an Australian poker player and four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner. He is also a former WPT World Online Championships Super High Roller (2021), Super High Roller Bowl (2021) and Poker Masters (2021) champion.

As of December 2021, he has amassed over $17.7 million in lifetime earnings and is top of the Australian all-time money list.

Early Poker Achievements

During the early 2010s, most of Addamo's cashes came in A$200 weekly tournaments at the Crown Casino, Melbourne in his native Australia.

The biggest cash of his early career came in the 2015 Aussie Millions Main Event, where he finished 21st for A$40,000 (~$31,605).

His first cash outside of Australia came later that year, cashing in the APPT Asia Championship of Poker in Macau.

Starting to Travel

Addamo's first trip to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) came in 2016. After a min-cash in the Colossus, he registered a third-place finish in a $1,500 NLHE event for $196,202 and his WSOP career was up and running. In total, Addamo would cash seven times at the 2016 WSOP for almost $250,000.

After returning to Australia briefly, Addamo travelled to Europe for the first time. He cashed in the EPT Barcelona Main Event and in the EPT Prague High Roller. After narrowly missing out on a first Aussie Millions ring, in 2017 he travelled to Macau once again to play in the PokerStars Championship Macau, winning a side event for $196,000.

Addamo would cash nine times at the 2017 WSOP, including a third-place finish in a $333 WSOP.com Online Event.

After trips to Macau and Barcelona in 2018, Addamo would head once again to the WSOP. In previous years, he had quickly got up and running, and that proved the case this time as he defeated a field of 1,637 players to win Event #24: $2,620 MARATHON No-Limit Hold'em for $653,581.

The High Roller World

Addamo would travel to the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) in 2018, and grab a second bracelet in the �25,500 High Roller for �848,702 (~$973,360). He would also final table the Super HIgh Roller, finishing eighth for an additional �264,110 (~$300,000).

As a result, the Australian would begin firing �/$25,000 tournaments more regularly, cashing three times at EPT Prague in 2018 including two single day �25,000 tournaments for over $300k.

A 17th place finish in the Aussie Millions Main event would kickstart his 2019, before a Spring spent playing at EPT Monte Carlo and Triton Jeju, South Korea. The summer saw Addamo fire ARIA $10,000 High Rollers against the best in the world �� winning two of them �� and he also found time for a third-place finish in the WSOP $50,000.

Six-figure cashes would follow at the partypoker MILLIONS Europe and EPT Barcelona to round out 2019.

In 2020, Addamo finally got his hands on an Aussie Millions ring, winning the $50K Challenge, before winning a $100,000 title at the 2020 Australian Poker Open.

Pandemic and Online Success

The COVID-19 pandemic saw many of the world's most recognisable poker tours move online, with players adjusting to the new normal when it came to grinding poker tournaments.

Addamo seemed to flourish when it came to online. He helped himself to Super High Roller Bowl Online and Poker Masters Online titles, and narrowly missed out on a third WSOP bracelet after finishing runner-up the GGPoker WSOP Online $ 10,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold'em Championship.

The World Poker Tour World Online Championships came to partypoker in 2020, with Addamo clinching victory in the $100,000 Super High Roller. Six months later it was the MILLIONS Online on partypoker, with Addamo triumphing yet again in the $102,000 Mega High Roller.

Away from partypoker, Addamo also found time to win four Super MILLION$ titles on GGPoker, and also lose the biggest-ever online No-Limit Hold'em cash game pot in history!

Return to Live

2021 saw the return of live poker, with Addamo flourishing with the return of the Poker Masters. Two back-to-back victories for over $1.8 million saw him win the Purple Jacket.

And less than two weeks later, Addamo added yet another high-profile victory to his poker resume, winning the Super High Roller Bowl for $3.4 million.

However, Addamo was only getting started with a third and fourth WSOP bracelet coming later that year. He first wonEvent #38: $50K High Roller for $1,132,968, and followed that up with victory in Event #87: $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold��em for an additional $1,958,569.
