Peter Eastgate is a Danish poker player who won the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
At the time, he was the youngest player to win the WSOP Main Event until Joe Cada.

Biography
Eastgate was born in Odense, Denmark on December 13, 1985. He studied economics at Aarhus University, but dropped out to pursue a career in poker.
2008 WSOP Main Event
Having cashed twice on the EPT in 2008, he qualified for the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event through Ladbrokes, and entered the final table fourth in chips behind Dennis Phillips, Ivan Demidov and Scott Montgomery.
Eastgate would go on to defeat Demidov heads-up to win $9,152,416.

Peter Eastgate Poker Achievements
After he won the WSOP title Eastgate became a regular in some of the biggest tournaments around the world. In 2009, Eastgate cashed in two events at the EPT PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure. One of those events, Peter won for a nice prize of $343,000. His biggest EPT achievement came a couple of months later when Eastgate finished second to Aaron Gustavson at the 2009 EPT London Main Event for more than half a million pounds.
After winning the World Series Eastgate signed a sponsorship deal with the PokerStars online poker site and represented the brand on the live tournament circuit. He eventually left PokerStars and in July 2010, he announced that he was taking a break from the game, and auctioned off his 2008 WSOP Main Event bracelet for charity.

However, he returned to the tables just eight months later and continued playing live and online tournaments and cash games. His last recorded cash came in May 2013, and has since faded from the poker world completely.
