Richard Yong is a Malaysian businessman and poker player with over $15 million in career earnings.
A popular high stakes tournament player, Yong has won several tournaments in his career including the 2015 Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge for US$1,477,560 and a Triton Poker 6-Max Event in Montenegro in 2018 for US$388,024.
Yong has five seven-figure cashes across his career, the largest of which coming when he finished third in the Triton Jeju Super High Roller for US2,130,848.
2014 World Cup Scandal
In Juyl 2014, Yong alongside Paul Phua and six others were arrested in Las Vegas by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after allegedly being responsible for an illegal betting ring during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
However, less than a year later prosecutors admitted they no longer had the evidence needed for a trial and the case was dismissed.
