Sam Soverel is an American poker player from Florida who has amassed $18.2 million in live tournament earnings, putting him third on the state's all-time money list behind Sean Winter and Jason Mercier.
Just a month after getting his first tournament cash, Soverel finished second in the 2011 $3,500 WPT Jacksonville Main Event for $187,762.
Soverel quickly moved up in stakes and now primarily plays a high roller schedule. In October 2016, Soverel took down a $100,000 Aria Super High Roller for just over a million, his biggest tournament score to date.
Soverel has had great success at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), finishing second in the 2019 $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $994,072. The same year, Soverel finished third in another WSOP $50,000 High Roller for $640,924.
At the 2021 WSOP, Soverel finished third in the $100,000 High Roller event to take home $830,992.
Soverel earned his maiden WSOP bracelet in 2016 when he took down a $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $185,317. In addition to the bracelet, Soverel has 15 WSOP cashes to make up $3.1 million in earnings.
Soverel has also done well for himself on the World Poker Tour (WPT), racking up three final table appearances, 11 cashes and $963,608 despite not yet having a WPT title to his name.
