Paunescu in the Lead
Raul Martinez is no longer the chip leader as he sent over a big chunk of his stack to Ciprian Paunescu. The Romanian was kind enough to provide the details, as he doubled through Martinez and sent short stack Seung Hun Ko to the rail.
According to Paunesco, he raised the button to 1,700 and Martinez called, Ko jammed only 3,600 in the big blind. Paunescu reraised to 7,600 and Martinez clicked it back top 22,600, which Paunescu called. On a flop, Martinez bet 9,000 and Paunescu called.
The came on the turn and Martinez checked the stack of his opponent, then moved all in for effectively 45,000. Paunescu used two time banks and called with , Martinez only had and Ko showed . A blank river kept the Romanian in the lead and he skyrocketed into the big stack.
"I used two time banks! Damn, what a call," he said, all smiles before taking a short break from his table.
