Puchol Eliminated by Paez

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Pablo Paez
Pablo Paez

Alvaro Puchol headed into the day second in chips but he has been eliminated before the first break on a day that didn't go his way at all.

In the final hand, Puchol three-bet jammed out of the big blind for what appeared to be 1.4 million and Pablo Paez snap-called from early position.

Alvaro Puchol: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Pablo Paez: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board came {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and the kicker played to eliminate Puchol.

Tejero Doubles Through Marina

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Tomasz Brzezinski has been eliminated while Miguel Tejero escaped from the same fate when he check-jammed a {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop for 465,000 out of the big blind. Carlos Marina called in the cutoff with the {k-Spades}{9-Spades} and was shown {6-Clubs}{5-Spades} by Tejero.

The {9-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river gave Tejero an unlikely flush.

Boi Cracks Aces to Double

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

"Oh boy," some of the table must have thought when Paolo Boi got it in against Lin Ruida, who had knocked out three players before that and skyrocketed to the top spot. And now, Ruida even had the rockets as he tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

Boi only revealed the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and was on his way out of the chair already but spiked two pair on the {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds} board to stay in contention.

"You are lucky. If you lose a hand, it is for a min-raise only" another player at the table joked.

Costin Eliminated by Kirilov

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Cristinel Costin had the best of it heading into the showdown for the last 465,000 as his {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} was ahead against the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} of Krasimir Kirilov. However, the {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop gave Kirilov top pair and the {10-Hearts} turn and {6-Diamonds} river both bricked off.

Fewer Than 50 Remain

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Two Italians, two local Spanish players and Romania's Adrian State have all been eliminated in incredibly quick succession. For Alberto Blanco, things seemed very promising heading into Day 3 but he first lost with straight versus flush, couldn't win the next few pots either and then ran with jacks into aces for the last 600,000.

Novik and Yam-Hod Double

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

In quick succession, Gleb Novik and Gilad Yam-Hod doubled over on table 17.

Novik got it in for 475,000 with {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} against the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} of Pere Llopis Ordines and the board came {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

The double up for Yam-Hod was far bigger, for 1,190,000, when he clashed with Luis Falcon.

Gilad Yam-Hod: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Luis Falcon: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

On a board of {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Yam-Hod turned the straight to take a chunk out of Falcon's stack.

Martinez Tormos Keeps Running Hot

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Lin Ruida and Alex Martinez Tormos are tearing up the tables early on and pulled into the top two spots. Latest casualty of Martinez's run was Aleksandr Sazhinov, who got it in with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} against {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

While everything pointed to a double up for the Russian before the flop, that all but changed when it came {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to provide the queen on the flop.

Another Four Down

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Pablo Osuna was one of the latest casualties when he flipped with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} against the {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} of Alex Montgomery as the board came {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Montgomery climbed up the leaderboard while only moments later, another three players were already on the way to the payout desk.

One of them was Carlos Herraiz Morales, who failed to get there with {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Luis Falcon on a board of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}.
