Liam O'Rourke can not be stopped lately and it is somewhat apt that he is the player to deal the fatal blow that brings us to the final table.
The action folded to Alec Smith in the small blind and he opened it up. O'Rourke then put in a three-bet and Smith jammed. O'Rourke snapped him off and the players turned their hands over.
O'Rourke:
Smith:
When the board ran out , O'Rourke eliminated Smith in 10th place. And with that, the final table is set. Stay tuned for a table draw and chip counts.

Just one player off a final table and we are heading on a 10-minute break.
Stewart Ballard has already had a couple of close calls for his tournament life today and it doesn't get much closer than his most recent hand.
Aston was all in preflop holding against Anthony Aston's . By the time the board had run out , Ballard was looking like he was going home.

The action folded around to Oliver Speidel in the cutoff and he opened it up to 45,000. Alec Smith was in the big blind and he popped it to 105,000. Speidel made the call and three cards were spread across the felt.
Flop:
On the flop, Smith led for 85,000 and Speidel promptly announced the all in. This lead Smith to quickly muck his cards as Speidel raked in the pot.

Only one more elimination is needed before we are at the final table of the 2012 ANZPT Sydney Main Event. It is interesting to note that Liam O'Rourke is creeping towards holding a third of the chips in play with 10 players remaining.
The action was opened by Alec Smith from under the gun and Liam O'Rourke promptly three-bet to 105,000 directly to his left. The action then flew around to Erich Stadler in the big blind and he shoved all in for 220,000. Smith got out of the way and O'Rourke made the call.
O'Rourke:
Stadler:
By the time the board had run out , Stadler was up out of his feet passionately yelling at the felt. It didn't help though as the on the river would give O'Rourke the big hand. Stadler goes home in in 11th place for a $11,525 score.

Nicholas Heather started the day as a monster chip leader, but his run here in Sydney has come to an end. It was all in preflop for Heather and his relatively short stack holding .
Heather had to come up against the of Jason O'Brien. When the board ran out , O'Brien's flopped two-pair was more than enough to send Heather to the rail in 12th place.
