This Has Literally Never Happened Before... Ever
We have just watched a 17-minute hand play out. Not only that, but time was called four times by the other players at the table. Amazingly, time had to be called three times On one street. We have literally never seen anything like it and most likely never will again.
The hand began with 50 minutes remaining in the level with Chiu Yeung Lee opening to 24,000 from under the gun. Jon Pierre Narbey called out of the big blind, and the dealer spread out the flop. Narbey bet 45,000 relatively quickly on the flop and this is when the tanking first began. Lee went deep into the tank, taking three or four minutes before Raj Ramarishnan called time on Lee. Lee eventually made the call.
The turn would see Narbey take a long time before betting 45,000. Lee then went into the tank as the rest of the players at the table seemed to be getting annoyed. Eventually, Lee called and the completed the board on the river.
Narbey then went into the tank, taking two or three minutes before Jonathan Bredin called the clock. After using up almost the full minute, Narbey checked. Lee, who just had several minutes to think about what he was going to do while Narbey tanked, then went into the tank. After a couple of minutes, Ramakrishnan had to call the clock. Lee eventually moved all in for 102,000.
Then Narbey went back into the tank.
The rest of the table now began to get really annoyed.
Narbey asked the dealer to spread the pot. After another couple of minutes, Bredin had no choice but to call the clock yet again.
That made for three clock calls on one street.
In the end, Narbey ended up folding, sending the pot to Lee.
The floor staff then told Narbey and Lee that what they just did was ridiculous and they needed to play faster. If the clock is called on either of these two players again, they will now only receive 30 seconds instead of a full minute.
