Gift Double For Rory

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Rory Young has landed a much-needed double up, but he did it in rather bizarre fashion.

Josh Redhouse opened under the gun to 80,000 before Young moved all in for 325,000 from the small blind. Peco Stojanovski cold-called from the big blind and Redhouse dropped his head into his hands. He was pained by the decision, but he eventually flashed the {a-Clubs} and folded.

“What?!?” exclaimed a surprised Stojanovski who opened {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, clearly hoping to gang up on the short stack to eliminate him. Young opened {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and was pretty happy with his spot.

To compound the problem the board ran out {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} which would’ve given Redhouse the knockout. Instead
Young more than doubled to 750,000.

“Nice call Peco! I’m buying you dinner tonight!” laughed Young with his new stack, as Redhouse indicated he would’ve called if Stojanovski didn’t. Oops!
