Rubie's On a Roll

Chatting with Brendon Rubie on break, he was thrilled to have been moved to a new table. He claimed that he just couldn't get anything going at his old table and that the players there had him pegged. Since being moved to his new table, Rubie's moved his stack from 100,000 to 180,000. Here's a little look at how he's done it.

Right when Rubie got moved, he three-bet a rather spastic player with {A-}{6-} to win a pot preflop. Shortly after that, he four-bet a player with {Q-}{10-} to show his new table that he meant business and wasn't going to back down in his new chair.

Then after Keith Hawkins opened a pot from early position to 4,500, Rubie called out of the small blind. He led out with a bet of 4,300 on the flop of {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Hawkins folded to pick up that pot. After that hand, Rubie was at about 160,000.

On the very next hand, Rubie raised the button to 5,000 before Kenny Shih moved all in for 16,700 from the small blind. Rubie made the call with his {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and was up against Shih's {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Rubie added the pot to his stack to increase to about 180,000.
