Lim's Aces Get Plenty of Value

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

A few pots had been traded, mostly between Aaron Lim and Thomas Lee with both players near the top of the chip counts. Then, the Australian opened to 175,000 from the button and he called the three-bet of Lee from the small blind for a total of 400,000.

On the {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop, Lee's bet of 425,000 was called and the {2-Clubs} turn got checked through. The {K-Hearts} river completed the board and Lee quickly called the carefully chosen value-bet worth 425,000 by Lim to discover the bad news. The Australian had turned a full house with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Lee's hand was no good. He later said in table chat that he held {A-}{J-}.

Lim Doubles Through Lee

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Aaron Lim jams the small blind and Thomas Lee calls in the big. It's Lim's {6-Spades}{7-Spades} against Lee's {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} with Lim's tournament life hanging in the balance.

The flop comes down {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} giving Lim outs to a straight. The {7-Diamonds} turn gives him a pair and the {k-Clubs} river locks up the double up.

Split Pot with a Twist

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Lee raised to 160,000 from under the gun and Jessie Leonarez moved all in for what looked like 1,100,000 or slightly less. Lee asked for a count before letting out a "I hate to double you back up there". The Canadian then called and was happy with it, as the kicker was slightly better.

Lee: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Leonarez: {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop was a huge sweat for the Filipino, but Lee avoided the setback with the {2-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} to chop up the pot.

Fan Versus Olsson

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Douglas Olsson opened to 160,000 from the button and was called by Terry Fan in the big blind, heading to the {J-Spades}{2-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop. Fan check-called a bet of 150,000 before the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn and was checked through. On the {Q-Diamonds} river no bets followed either and Fan's {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} won the pot.

Lee Extends Lead

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Aaron Lim opened to 200,000 from the small blind and Thomas Lee called in the big blind to set up a heads-up flop of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Both players checked and Lim's bet of 225,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn was called. The Australian also fired 480,000 once the {3-Diamonds} river fell and Lee quickly called with the {Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts} to scoop a decent pot.

Then, Lee made it 165,000 to go from the button and Jessie Leonarez called out of the big blind. The two of them checked down the {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop and the {K-Hearts} turn. Leonarez tried to steal the pot with a bet of 150,000 on the {7-Clubs} river but Lee called with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and beat the {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} bluff of the Filipino.

Lee Grabs Hold

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Jessie Leonarez made it 135,000 and Thomas Lee bumped it up from the small blind to 355,000. Leonarez called and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Both players checked to the {2-Hearts} turn, where Lee led for 325,000.

Leonarez called and the river brought the {a-Diamonds}. Lee pushed all in for some 1.6 million and Leonarez folded, handing Lee the pot and the chip lead.

Lim Takes the Lead

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

After two orbits without any major action, a flop emerged once again just like the blue moon. Terry Fan had raised to 150,000 in the small blind and Aaron Lim called from one seat over to see the {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Both players checked and Fan's bet of 160,000 after the {5-Diamonds} turn was called.

Fan then checked the {8-Diamonds} river and quickly folded to a bet of 450,000 by Lim. After the hand was over, the Australian had taken over the lead.

Aaron Lim
Aaron Lim

Jessie Leonarez limped the button and Terry Fan completed from the small blind before Aaron Lim took his option to raise from the big blind, making it 210,000. Leonarez called and Fan folded.

The flop came down {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Lim led for 280,000. Leonarez flatted and the turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Lim check, but when Leonarez bet 350,000, he check-raised all in for 1.1 million total.

Leonarez tank-folded, handing a rather significant pot to Lim.
