Event #15: 8-Game Mixed Event

Day 2 Completed

Congratulations Andy Bloch, Winner of Event 15: $10,500 8-Game Mixed Event (AUD$105,000)

Level 16
Congratulations to Andy Bloch, Event 15 Champion!
Congratulations to Andy Bloch, Event 15 Champion!

It took two days to complete what was scheduled for one day, but finally an Event 15: $10,500 8-Game Mixed Event champion has been crowned with Team Full Tilts Andy Bloch too good for the rest, taking home a 2011 Aussie Millions gold ring.

Starting early in the afternoon yesterday it only took a few hours to dwindle the field down to a few tables with the likes of Richard Ashby, Jeffrey Lisandro, Daniel Alaei, Joseph Serock, David Oppenheim and last years Aussie Millions H.O.R.S.E champion, David Bach all making their way to the rail throughout the day.

But by the time the tournament was down to six players it was early in the morning and talks of bringing it back the next day had begun. The table decided that once the money bubble was burst they would reevaluate the situation and take it from their.

It would be Full Tilt Red Pro Eli Elezra who would play the longest for no tangible reward as the remaining five were set at around 3 a.m AEST. The five left sitting at the felt made the decision to play the twenty minutes remaining in the current level and then make a decision. During that time Mike Watson bit the dust, sent home in 5th place for AUD$20,000, after which the players said it was time for bed and would come back to play it out today.

Justin Smith would be the first eliminated on day two, the Full Tilt Red Pro only coming back today to play for a few hands. Next to hit the rail in 3rd was Melbournes own Robert Campbell, as he represented Australia in one of the toughest fields assembled at this years Aussie Millions.

Heads-Up would only last a few hands of Omaha Hi/Lo as Maria Hos stack only allowed for a few bets at any of the games. Ho was the chip leader for much of day one action but cant be too disappointed with a runner-up finish and AUD$70,000 to go along with it.

As always, there can only be one victor and Andy Bloch must be congratulated for his first Aussie Millions gold ring and his continuing form that solidifies him as one of the finest tournament players in the world.

Thats all from the 8-Game Mixed Event, but please dont forget to tune into the
Event #9: Aussie Millions Main Event as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team is there to bring it down to the final table!

Maria Ho Eliminated in 2nd Place (AUD$70,000); Andy Bloch Wins!

Level 16
Maria Ho - 2nd Place
Maria Ho - 2nd Place

With a huge chip deficit and the limits increasing ever higher, Maria Ho was to be allin on any hand she decided to play. It just so happened to be an Omaha Hi/Lo hand that Ho would find her tournament life on the line, the split pot game allowing Ho to atleast try and take half the pot and stay alive.

Ho: {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Bloch: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The board would run out {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, with no low pot in sight and the ace good for Bloch it would be home for Ho who was the chip leader for much of the first day.

Maria Ho takes home $AUD70,000 for her gallant efforts.

Robert Campbell Eliminated in 3rd Place (AUD$50,000)

Level 16
Robert Campbell - 3rd Place
Robert Campbell - 3rd Place

It was a Limit Hold'em hand that saw the demise of our third place finisher Robert Campbell.

It was a raised pot between Campbell and Bloch that saw the {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} fall on the flop. Campbell checked with 14,000 behind and when Bloch threw in the 8,000 chip bet, Campbell would move allin for his 14,000.

Campbell: {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Bloch: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}

The turn coming the {5-Hearts} was no help for Campbell and the {8-Spades} on the river changed nothing as Bloch took down the pot and eliminated Campbell in third place for a AUD$50,000 score.

2-7 Triple Draw

Robert Campbell has just managed to double-up after playing a triple draw hand down to the last draw. Campbell took two, one and one while leading on every street, while Ho would call every round except the last after taking two, two and one. Ho tabled a pair of nines and didnt call the last 5,000 chip bet of Campbell.

Campbell now has around 75,000. While Ho has 90,000.

Jacks No Good

Level 15

2-7 Triple Draw

Andy Bloch raised on the button and got the call from Robert Campbell in the big blind. Campbell drew three and Blioch two. Bloch would be the aggressor again and both players would draw one.

The next round saw Bloch check and Campbell bet. Campbell stood pat and Bloch drew one. This time they both checked and turned their hands over.

Campbell jack-low would be bested by Bloch's ten-low and Bloch took the pot as Campbell slips to under 40,000.

Ho Gathers Back

Level 15

Pot Limit Omaha

Andy Bloch raised the pot from the small blind and Maria Ho made the call in the big blind.

Flop: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Bloch would lead out on this flop for 12,000 with Ho gathering her chips and eventually making the call.

The {10-Diamonds} came on the turn and with it a check from Bloch sending the action Ho. Ho would move out two large stacks of 500 denomination ships and a few extra to bet 24,000.

Bloch made the fold and Ho took down the pot, regaining some of the chips she has been losing early in the day.
