Kornuth Doesn't Like the Price

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Chance Kornuth limped under the gun and Oliver Price raised to 68,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to Kornuth, who called, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Kornuth check-called a bet of 65,000 and then both players checked the {6-Hearts} turn as well as the {2-Spades} river.

Price showed the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Kornuth held two pair with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Kornuth Limps

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Chance Kornuth was first to act and limped in. Action folded around to Steve O'Dwyer in the small blind and he completed. Igor Kurganov checked his option and the three of them would continue to check the entire board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} {5-Spades} {9-Clubs}.

O'Dwyer and Kurganov both looked at Kornuth to show first, but he claimed to not have been the agressor (as he had limped in and not raised), so he wasn't one to show his cards without seeing his opponents' cards first.

O'Dwyer then mucked and Kurganov tabled {K-}{6-}. Kornuth now revealed his {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and took down the small pot.

Kurganov Doubles Through Egan to Take Chip Lead

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Steve O'Dwyer raised under the gun how much we're not sure and Igor Kurganov called from middle position. Michael Egan came along from the big blind and three players took a flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, which they all checked. Egan then led out with a bet of what looked to be 60,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, O'Dwyer folded, and Kurganov called.

When the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river, Egan checked and Kurganov bet 250,000. Egan responded by check-raising all in and Kurganov snap-called off for 1.05 million with the {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the flopped nuts. Egan was obliged to show and the dealer tabled his {9-}{4-}.

Kornuth and Kurganov Battle Again

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 48,000 from the hijack and his neighbor Chance Kornuth three-bet to 130,000 from the cutoff. The button and both blinds released rather quickly but Kurganov called to see a flop.

On {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} it was Kurganov who check called a bet of 78,000 and he checked again on the {A-Diamonds} turn. Kornuth checked behind and the two of them saw the {2-Diamonds} complete the board. Kurganov checked for the third time and Kornuth took his time before betting a mere 85,000. Kurganov sighed, and paused for a bit before reluctantly tossing in the chips to call.

Kornuth showed {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a small flush, Kurganov tabled {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for the winner.

Steve O'Dwyer raised the button and Chance Kornuth called from the big blind. Both players checked the {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop as well as the {5-Clubs} turn, and then Kornuth fired out 147,000 on the {3-Diamonds} river. O'Dwyer hit the tank for nearly two minutes before calling, but mucked when Kornuth rolled over the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a rivered set.

One for Price

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Oliver Price raised the button and Michael Egan defended the big blind to see a {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop. Egan check-called a bet of 40,000 and then check-called one of 85,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn. When the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, action went check-check and Price tabled the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. It was good as Egan simply mucked.

River Raise by O'Dwyer

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Phanlert Sukonthachartnant made it 45,000 from first position and Steve O'Dwyer in the hijack was the only caller. The two of 'em checked on {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and did so too on the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. The river came the {J-Diamonds} and Sukonthachartnant made a bet of 60,000. O'Dwyer raised to 225,000 and his determination worked out as Sukonthachartnant folded after thinking about it for about a minute.
