Queens Up

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Philip Neiman
Philip Neiman

When we last saw Philip Neiman, the Queensbridge native was happily discussing the terms of a chop to win Event 1 of the Borgata Spring Poker Open. Neiman is here today looking to take down another title, with a recent double up putting him squarely among the average stacks.

After the hijack opened to 12,000, Neiman three-bet shoved for his last 65,500, with his opponent quickly making the call.

Neiman: {A-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Hijack: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Both players held queens in the hole, but in fitting fashion, the board rolled out {8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to give the proud Queens native queens up, and the double up to boot.

Joe Rodriguez - Eliminated
Joe Rodriguez - Eliminated

Joe Rodriguez was all in and at risk preflop with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, but he was dominated by Rick Ruffman's {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Ruffman held up as the flop, turn, and river came {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, chipping up to 160,000, and Rodriguez, who also reached the final table of Event 12. hit the rail.

Pacelli Finds a Six

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Atesa Pacelli
Atesa Pacelli

Fresh off of her third-place finish in Event 12 last night, Atesa Pacelli is eying yet another deep run in the 2014 Borgata Spring Poker Open. She just eliminated a player on one of the first hands after the dinner break, and is now sitting on an average stack.

Her opponent was all in and at risk with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, and actually had Pacelli's {a-Spades}{6-Spades}, but Pacelli rivered a winning pair as the board came {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

Pacelli now sits with around 140,000 chips.

Hall Good

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A player open-shoved for around 11,000 in early position, a second player called, a third player re-shoved for around 100,000, and John Hall called, having all parties covered. The player who flatted the initial shove, folded.

Original All-In Player: {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Re-Shover: {a-}{k-}
Hall: {10-}{10-}

The tens held up, and Hall recorded a double knockout to push his stack to over 300,000 chips.

Papa Loses Another

Papa Levy

Daniel Brits moved all in for 81,700 on a completed board of {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and his opponent, Papa Levy, went into the tank.

When Levy emerged, he made the call, and mucked when Brits tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

"I had kings," Levy announced, cutting out the necessary chips to call the bet.

Brits doubled through, and now has 200,000 chips, while Levy plummeted to 70,000.

MAArino

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A player raised to 17,500 in early position, Nick Marino put in a three-bet to 40,000 on the button, and the original raiser moved all in for around 120,000 or so. Marino snap-called.

Marino called so fast, that when he turned over his {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, the dealer asked him whether or not he had indeed called.

The original raiser revealed a lesser pair - {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} - and the aces held up on a board of {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Don't Send it to Papa

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Papa Levy in the Seniors NLHE tournament earlier this week

With 60,000 in the pot, Papa Levy placed out a 20,000 chip bet on the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} board. His opponent,a young lady in the four seat, check-called his wager.

The river was the {K-Clubs} completing the flush draw and Levy's opponent sprang into action by placing a 25,000 chip bet. Levy didn't think long before folding. He's still sitting with a healthy stack of 195,000 after losing that pot.
