Hand #53-54: Stammen Takes from Kaverman; Kohlberg Over Two Million

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #53: Byron Kaverman raised to 135,000 from the cutoff, Keven Stammen called on the button, and Ryan DAngelo defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and the trio checked. The turn was the {a-Clubs}, DAngelo and Kaverman both checked, and Stammen took the opportunity to bet 250,000. Only Kaverman called.

The {10-Spades} completed the board - giving both players at least two pair with an ace kicker - and Kaverman checked a third time. Stammen fired out 650,000, and Kaverman dipped into the tank for several minutes.

Someone on the rail yelled Byron, and the young man broke into a smile. He eventually folded, and Stammen mucked.

Hand #54: Stammen raised to 135,000 in the cutoff, Curt Kohlberg defended his big blind, and the flop fell {10-Spades}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Kohlberg checked, Stammen fired out 150,000, and Kohlberg called.

The turn was a repeat ten - the {10-Clubs} - and both players knuckled. The two checked again on the river ({q-Hearts}), and Stammen showed {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Kohlberg revealed {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for aces and tens, and dragged the pot.
