Svetlana Gromenkova Eliminated in 6th Place ($1,483)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Svetlana Gromenkova - 6th Place
Svetlana Gromenkova - 6th Place

Svetlana Gromenkova moved all in for around 120,000 in the cutoff, Wendy Rubin re-shoved behind her, and the rest of the action folded.

Gromenkova: {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Rubin: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The dealer fanned {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} giving Gromenkova an inside straight draw, and the turn was a repeat seven - the {7-Hearts}.

Only a six or an eight would save Gromenkova, and she unfortunately received neither as the {9-Clubs} completed the board.

Gromenkova, winner of the 2008 WSOP Ladies Event, exited in sixth place.

More and More Doubles

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Wendy Rubin raised to 75,000 in middle position, Katya Grishakova moved all in for 284,000 on her direct left, and the action folded back to Rubin, who snap-called.

Rubin: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Grishakova: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The aces held as the flop, turn, and river rolled out {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and Grishakova doubled to 618,000 chips.

Rubin doubled through Sarah Wasch the next hand, and then Wasch doubled through Svetlana Gromenkova.

Gromenkova then moved all in for 320,000 in late position, and Rubin, still short despite doubling, called all-in for less.

Gromenkova: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Rubin: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Rubin improved to a set of queens on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and the turn and river blanked {9-Spades}, {j-Spades} respectively.

More Doubling Part Deux

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Karen Harris moved all in preflop for around 80,000, and again Svetlana Gromenkova put a player at risk.

Harris: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Gromenkova: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Harris was collecting her things after seeing Gromenkova's hand, and the window was the {10-Hearts}, but it was followed by two sixes; the {6-Clubs} and {6-Hearts}.

Neither the {4-Spades} on the turn nor the {7-Hearts} on the river were good enough to eliminate Harris, and she doubled to around 160,000 chips.

A few hands later Wendy Rubin open-shoved from the cutoff for 174,000, and Olga Petrovskaya looked her up from the blinds.

Rubin: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Petrovskaya: {6-}{6-}

There was an ace on the {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Spades} flop, pushing Rubin into the lead, and she successfully doubled as the turn and river completed {5-Hearts}, {k-Clubs} respectively.

More Doubling

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Katya Grishakova moved all in for 96,000 from the cutoff, Olga Petrovskaya called on her direct left, and the hands were tabled.

Grishakova: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Petrovskaya: {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The dominant hand held on a board of {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and Grishakova doubled.

A few hands later Teresa Sexton was all in with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} against Gina Saladino's {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Sexton made a pair of aces on a flop of {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and held as the turn and river bricked out {k-Diamonds}, {6-Hearts} respectively.
