From Bluffer to Bluff-Catcher
Level 5
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
On a heads-up turn of 4?4?6?7?, Shawn Wilcox checked to Nathan Russler who bet 3,000, but then Wilcox check-raised to 8,500. Russler thought for a few moments but decided to make the call to see the 10? roll off on the river.
Wilcox then checked again and Russler fired for 30,000, putting pressure on Wilcox. After some time to think, Wilcox made the call and Russler was not happy to show A?5? for a missed straight draw and ace-high. Wilcox then proudly flipped over Q?7? for the winning hand with fours and sevens.
"I turned my hand into a bluff on the turn, and then into a bluff-catcher on the river!" Wilcox exclaimed as he raked in the pot.
