Lieu Takes Her Leave

Liz Lieu was already all in when we got to the table, with the board reading {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Two other players were heads up, but one of them folded to the other players bet. The remaining player tabled {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for top pair, and Lieu cheered, "I have an out", showing {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Indeed, any club would give her the nut flush, but it wasn't meant to be, as the river brought the {9-Spades}.

Lieu has yet to leave her table, but she hasn't shown any indication that she intends to rebuy. For now, it looks like she is eliminated from the tournament.

Newhouse Races Back to Starting Stack

We walked up to the table to see that Mark Newhouse had reraised all in for 2,400 facing a 300 chip raise. It folded back to his opponent, and thanks to some words of encouragement from her table mate Mike Matusow, she made the call. The cards were flipped, and we were off to the races.

Newhouse: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, giving Newhouse extra outs as he picked up an open ended straight draw. The {2-Spades} on the turn brought him no help, but the river, the {8-Diamonds}, gave Newhouse the nut straight. After that hand, Newhouse is back up to 4,800 from his original 5,000 starting stack.

Jett Brings Grinder Down To Earth

We promise that Michael Mizrachi isn't the only person in the tournament. He just so happens to be the one providing all of the entertainment so far. We saw Karina Jett commit the rest of her 3,100 chip stack in preflop, and Mizrachi looked at his cards and immediately slammed a stack of blue T500 chips in for the call. Mizrachi called for Jett's rebuy before the hands were revealed, but he saw that he was in bad shape.

Jett: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Mizrachi: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The flop didn't pair either but brought some action, coming {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Jett picked up a flush draw, but Mizrachi also picked up some chop outs. However, the {6-Spades} on the turn sealed the hand for Jett, who made the ace high flush. The meaningless river was the {10-Diamonds}, and Jett bumped her stack back up to 6,400.

Grinder Takes Another

So far, Michael Mizrachi has easily been the most active big name in the tournament, playing every hand that we've seen the table play. He just forced another player to reach into their pocket for a rebuy, as he has upped his stack to 15,000 early.

The money was already in the middle when we got to the table, on a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Mizrachi's {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} was drawing very live against his opponent's {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, but the {a-Diamonds} on the turn brought no help. However, the {6-Diamonds} spiked on the river, and Mizrachi collected another nice pot.

Grinder Off To Good Start

Well it's pretty clear that the players will be taking full advantage of their rebuy option. We've already heard the "rebuy" cry from three different dealers, one of them being from the featured table. We walked over, and saw that Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi was raking in a pot for an early double stack.

We didn't catch the action, but we saw that Mizrachi had {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} on a board that read {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. His two pair was better then his opponents {a-}{7-}, and Mizrachi is quickly up to 10,000.
