Shcherbatskiy Gets a Few Back

Shcherbatskiy got a handful of his chips back a few hands later when he limped in to see a flop with big blind Benelli.

Both players checked the {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} flop and proceeded to a {9-Spades} turn, at which point Benelli bet out 16,000. Shcherbatskiy called, though, and after both players had checked the {6-Hearts} river, Shcherbatskiy turned over {5-Spades} {5-Hearts} to take the pot and Benelli mucked.

Benelli Doubles Through Shcherbatskiy

Andrea Benelli open-shoved for 86,500 in early position and Sergey Shcherbatskiy took a little time to make a decision before calling from the button. As the TD said, "It's a showdown."

Benelli: {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Shcherbatskiy: {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades}

Board: {4-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs}

Benelli's supporters, who had somehow snuck into the press-only section of the rail, exploded with joy as he doubled up to 186,000.

Joao Barbosa Doubles Through Dario Minieri

With the action folded to him on the button, Joao Barbosa moved all in for 75,500 and Dario Minieri called from the small blind.

Barbosa {Q-Clubs} {2-Clubs}
Minieri {A-Spades} {9-Hearts}

The {Q-Diamonds} was in the door as the flop came down {Q-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {8-Spades}, Barbosa making top pair and Minieri middle pair. Barbosa turned queens up when the {2-Hearts} fell and Minieri couldn't catch him on the {J-Diamonds} river.

After the hand, Barbosa was up to 164,000.

Michael Muheim Eliminated in 9th Place (€21,114)

Sergey Shcherbatskiy limped in from middle position, Michael Muheim moved all in from the big blind and Shcherbatskiy quickly called, turning up {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} to Muheim's {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}.

The flop gave Muheim a small ray of hope, coming down {Q-Spades} {10-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, pairing his nine, but the {J-Spades} on the turn took away several of his outs as Shcherbatskiy picked up an ace-high flush draw. The {3-Clubs} on the river sealed the hand for Shcherbatskiy and Muheim headed to the rail in 9th place. He'll take the tidy sum of €21,114 back home to Switzerland.

Oh No, Arnaud

Arnaud Mattern has been getting bullied.

The second hand in, he reraised Nico Behling preflop, but then laid it down when Behling bet out on the {10-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}.

A few hands later, he raised to 16,000 in mid position but then passed when Dario Minieri made it 48,000 from the big blind.

After starting the day with 328,000 rather than the accidentally reported 238,000, his stack has now sunk to nearer the published figure -- he's currently sitting on around 260,000.

Blinds Remain at 3,000/6,000

Much to the disappointment of Ludovic Lacay, the blinds have not been rolled back, but they will be playing a whole hour of the 3,000/6,000/500 level instead of the 40 or so minutes to which they are rightfully entitled.
