It folded around to him in the small blind and he (this is important) may or may not have announced a raise of 3,500, sticking in one 5,000 chip and one 500 chip. He is most unfortunate today, though, to be seated directly to the right of Lex Veldhuis, who responded with dumping a stack of yellow 5,000 chips in the middle by way of a reraise. Houghton folded and the dealer pushed all the chips towards Veldhuis.
"Hey, I raised three and a half," protested Houghton. An argument with the dealer now erupted. "Hey, chill out,' urged Veldhuis, to whom 2,000 chips are apparently as nothing. Houghton failed to chill out though, and the argument was still raging as the press backed away from the table.
