Thomas Bichon Eliminated in 14th Place (30,000)

Thomas Bichon - 14th place
Thomas Bichon - 14th place

Thomas Bichon raised to 105,000 from middle position, and John Juanda made the smooth call next door.

Heads up, the flop came out {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades}, and Bichon continued out with a bet of 125,000. Juanda, acting deliberately every step of the way, took his pause to stare down Bichon for a moment. Finally, he settled on a feeler raise to 260,000, sending the action back to Bichon. A crowd of media and spectators began to crowd around the table, and the television cameras watched Bichon reraise to 415,000. Juanda asked Bichon how much he was playing (804,000 behind) before making another smooth call.

That brought them to the {6-Hearts} turn, and Bichon sat motionless for several minutes. It looked like he wasn't quite sure how to proceed, and he eventually said, "I'm all in," rather quietly. You could see the gears in Juanda's head whirring as he eyeballed the pot and his own stack, eventually cutting the calling chips out to assess the potential damage. After another couple minutes, he made the call to put Bichon in danger of elimination. And the news was not good for the Team PokerStars Pro from France:

Bichon: {Q-Spades} {J-Spades}
Juanda: {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}

Bichon was drawing dead to three outs, and he could only shake his head at that predicament he'd gotten himself into.

River: {2-Diamonds}

That's all she wrote, Bichon eliminated in 14th place. It was another fine run, and it seems as though Bichon is headed for another major title at some point, but for now, the WPT Cyprus winner will have to settle for 14th place and a consolation prize of 30,000.

With Bichon's exit, we're now out of Team PokerStars Pros.
