Quads for Salmi

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We heard an all-in and call and ran over to the furore to see a board of {9-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. The two combatants were one time front runner Vicenzo Apicella and Ville Salmi. We are not sure who moved all in but we are sure that Apicella was drawing as dead as Leonardo Da Vinci.

Apicella{7-Clubs} {8-Clubs}
Salmi{4-Hearts} {4-Spades}

Salmi ~ 113,000
Apicella ~ 80,000

Meidla Wants Quaade's Apple

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Lauri Meidla has just added more than 20,000 chips to his stack without having to go to showdown. He raised to 4,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Roberto Romanello on the button and he made the call. Next to act was Thomas Quaade in the small blind and he raised to 16,000 only to see Meidla move all in for 88,300. Romanello folded and Quaade went into the tank.

It must have been quite a deep tank as he spent more than four minute in it. "You want my apple don't you?" he asked Quaade, referring to the red apple he has in front of him. "You promised me that apple," chimed in Sam El Sayed.

Eventually Meidla asked if he could call time and one of the floor staff came over but before they could give instructions Romanello said sarcastically, "Right, you now how eight minutes to make your decision!" The official 60 second countdown began and within a matter of seconds Quaade folded.

Sam No Longer the Man

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
A rare quiet moment
A rare quiet moment

We wrote earlier about the vocal exploits of Sam El Sayed and he's now been joined by renowned motor-mouth Roberto Romanello.

Romanello had been relatively quiet today but that soon changed when he sat down at his new table. He wasted little time in telling Sayed, "I'm the new boss at the table now. You only talk when I tell you too!"

Sayed tried and speak but Ronamello talked him down, "What did I tell you? Ssshh."

After Romanello had finished the hand he was involved in Sayed finally had his response heard, "Shut-up and play" before adding "He needs lose a pot and he wont talk anymore".

Their table mates are, mostly, enjoying the banter but I bet they're glad they day's play will only last for a 95 minutes. A whole day of their talk would have you scratching the walls.

Eames Left Out in the Cold

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

John Eames and Sergy Pilugin have both been eliminated in the same hand by PokerStars qualifier Danny Nierop.

Eames' had found a dream situation. He was in the big blind and saw both his opponents move all-in from the button and small blind before he looked down at two black rockets, and in the chips went.

Pilugin: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Nierop: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Eames: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The board ran {10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} to make the Dutchman a full house. And just to rub salt into Eames' wounds, JP Kelly said he folded a jack.

Potential For Fireworks

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Praz Bansi and Sami Kelopuro are seated on the same table, with Kelopuro being two seats to Bansi's left. Both players play a high tempo, aggressive style that could see a lot of chips flying about if they clash.

It looked like they would clash just moments ago when Bansi opened from under the gun to 3,800 and Kelopuro three-bet to 9,500. The action folded around to Bansi who asked, "What do you have there? About 150?". Kelopuro started to count but stopped and said, "No. Less than that." At which point Bansi folded.

Is That The Only Move You Have Got?

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Janne Nevalainen raised to 3,300 in the cut-off and Matthew Frankland moved all-in on the button. The blinds folded and the action fell to Nevalainen.

"Is that your only move?" Nevalainen asked.

"Yeah, it's the only one I have got," said Frankland.

Nevalainen folded and Frankland has 46,000 and a bit more shoving ahead of him.
