Tikhonov Makes a Great Call, But Doesn't Get Rewarded

Sergey Tikhonov just made an amazing call for his tournament life, but in the end, things didn't go his way.

Tikhonov had bet 70,000 on the {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop before Jan Bendik raised to 165,000. After some time in the tank, Tikhonov called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}. Tikhonov checked and Bendik quickly announced that he was all in. The all-in bet was effectively worth 315,000 as that's what Tikhonov had behind. After several long minutes in the tank, Tikhonov called with the {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for just a pair of threes and a whopping seven kicker. Bendik held the {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for two overs to the board and a turned flush draw.

The river landed with the {A-Hearts} and Bendik pumped his fist in celebration and let out a cheer. All Tikhonov could do was send over the chips and exit to the payout desk, which he did, quietly.
