Niels van Alphen, for the second time, has donated chips back to the table moments after doubling-up.
He opened to 50,000 from the button and called when Mickey Petersen three-bet to 125,000 from the big blind. The flop fell and Petersen saw his 125,000 c-bet called before both players checked the turn. The river came and Petersen checked to Van Alphen who tanked before betting 225,000.
Petersen called with for ace high, good to beat the Dutchman's for eight high.
A massive hand just took place that has seen Niels van Alphen climb past the one million chip barrier.
Mickey Petersen opened the betting with a raise to 50,000 and Aage Ravn three-bet to 125,000, something that has happened on numerous occasions so far today. Next to act was van Alphen and he four-bet shoved for 528,000 in total, immediately folding out Petersen but Ravn looked like he was going to call; and he did!
Ravn
van Alphen
Ravn made the call with just a pair of deuces and van Alphen looked set to double up. The flop was ideal for the kings of the Dutchman but the turn drew some "ooohs and aaahhs" from the crowd as Ravn had a spade in his hand. The dealer burned a card and put out the river....., safe for van Alphen and he doubled up.
Steve O'Dwyer moved all-in with 283,000 from the cutoff and the chip leader Aage Ravn called in the big blind.

Board:
O'Dwyer could not find the three he needed and he departs in 7th place. Another fantastic performance from O'Dwyer, who is starting to make final tables of major tournaments with increasing regularity.
Aage Ravn raised to 40,000 in the hijack seat, Bjarke Hansen called on the button as did Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind. The flop was and the action checked to Hansen who bet 80,000 and only Ravn called. That was the end of the betting action as the and were checked through as Ravn took down the pot with
The Dutchman Niels van Alphen didn't hang on to those double-up chips very long.
He opened to 40,000 from the button and bet 64,000 on the flop, and 150,000 on the turn. The final board read and Van Alphen's customer was Bjarke Hansen. The Dane was in the small blind and called all the way before both players checked the river.
Hansen opened for second pair and it was good as Van Aplhen mucked.
