Alekberovas Eyes Back-to-Back Final Tables

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Don't look now, but Anaras Alekberovas is primed to make another deep run in an EPT Barcelona Main Event. Last year's fourth-place finisher started the day on a so-so stack, but now he's up to 1.2 million!

In a recent hand, action folded to Alekberovas in the cutoff and he opened for 25,000. The button folded and then Jacques Torbey decided to move all in for 284,000 from the small blind. The big folded and Alekberovas quickly called.

Torbey sheepishly turned over the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, which was in bad shape against the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} of Alekberovas. The {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} gave Torbey a gutshot straight draw, and the {9-Diamonds} turn made it an open-ended draw. Much to his disappointment, the {2-Hearts} river failed to complete it and he was out in 67th place.
