Kurganov Grabs the Chip Lead!

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Igor Kurganov

Hand #62: Lo completed from the small blind with {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Colman in the big blind checked his {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} on the flop and Lo bet out 80,000. Colman, having flopped nothing really, folded after some thinking.

Hand #63: Action folded again to Lo on the button. Lo with {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} raised to 130,000. Kurganov in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} made the call.

{6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Kurganov checked. Lo continued for 130,000 and Kurganov made the call. After the dealer burned, the turn came the {6-Hearts} giving Kurganov trips and Lo the flush draw. Kurganov checked again and Lo bet out a hefty 400,000. Kurganov made the call to grow the pot to 1,385,000.

The river was a brick with the {4-Spades} and Kurganov checked for the third time. Lo thought about it for some time. He contemplated his action for a good three minutes, and then bet out 600,000. Kurganov took his time as well. After two minutes he raised all in. Lo didn't make too much show and folded rather quickly.

Kurganov started out as by far the shortest stack with not much more than 10 big blinds, but he's now the chip leader!
