Wittendorff Shows It for the Fans

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Kim Wittendorff
Kim Wittendorff

Kim Wittendorff opened under the gun and was three-bet by Chance Kornuth to 12,500. Mike McDonald cold-called from the button and action moved back to Wittendorff, who put out a hefty four-bet to 49,000. Kornuth folded, but McDonald made the call and the two of them saw the {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop dealt.

On the flop, McDonald check-called Wittendorff's bet of 45,000 before both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn. When the {A-Spades} river card was dealt, McDonald checked and watched as his opponent slid out 65,000.

"Not the river card I wanted!" said McDonald before he folded.

At the other end of the table, Kornuth prodded Wittendorff to "show one for the fans!" Wittendorff did when he tabled the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for king high and increased his chip stack to just under 500,000.
