Thorel Pulls Back into the Lead

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

A series of small hands at the start of the new level has propelled Jean-Noel Thorel back into the lead. He first flopped two pair with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and bet small on each street, Sam Greenwood check-called three times and mucked on the river.

Thorel then scooped one min-raised pot by betting the {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} turn and another on a {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop.

Greenwood raised to 60,000 the hand after and Thorel defended. The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and both players checked. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Thorel bet 100,000 and was called before the {3-Diamonds} river was again checked. Thorel showed {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and that won the pot.

Mikita Badziakouski Eliminated in 3rd Place (99,530)

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Hand 1

Mikita Badziakouski limped in from the small blind and Jean-Noel Thorel checked in the big blind.

On the {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Badziakouski bet 24,000 and Thorel called before doing so again for another 54,000 on the {A-Hearts} turn. Badziakouski then bet the {2-Diamonds} river for 85,000 and Thorel called.

Badziakouski sheepishly turned over {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a bluff and Thorel scooped the pot with {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Hand 2

Down to 100,000, Badziakouski raised to 60,000 from the button and Sam Greenwood moved all in from the big blind, Badziakouski called it off.

Mikita Badziakouski: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Sam Greenwood: {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Greenwood improved and Badziakouski said "an interesting flop." The {10-Hearts} turn made things even more spicy with trips versus straight and flush draw. A blank {4-Clubs} on the river failed to improve Badziakouski and he was eliminated in third place for 99,530.

Thorel will start the battle one-versus-one with a slight chip advantage. The duo has 156,200 locked up and plays for a first-place payout of 226,600.

Greenwood Doubles Through Badziakouski

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Sam Greenwood open-shoved from the small blind and Mikita Badziakouski called in the big blind. When they tabled the cards, both were surprised. "I didn't expect to see such a big hand," Badziakouski said to Greenwood and the Canadian replied "I didn't think to see a call by such a strong one either."

Sam Greenwood: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Mikita Badziakouski: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

After doubling through Greenwood two times previously, Badziakouski was returned the favor on a board of ]Ad,10d,6c,9h,3s]. Greenwood doubled up for 471,000 and Badziakouski was sent back to the drawing board with less than 13 big blinds.

Ali Reza Fatehi
Ali Reza Fatehi

Jean-Noel Thorel opened to 75,000 from the button and Ali Reza Fatehi moved all in for 280,000 from the small. The action folded back to Thorel and he quickly called.

Ali Reza Fatehi: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

"Same story, seven on the turn," Badziakouski and Fatehi joked, referring to the previous showdown when Badziakouski doubled through Sam Greenwood. However, this time the dominated ace was unable to improve on a board of {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Fatehi was eliminated in fourth place for 71,970.

Badziakouski Doubles Again Through Greenwood

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 200,000 from the button with around 150,000 behind. The action folded back to Greenwood and he talked through a few possible hands, then moved all in. Badziakouski called it off and had the inferior kicker.

Mikita Badziakouski: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Sam Greenwood: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
