Foxen Eliminated by Vieira

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Alex Foxen earlier in the EPT Barcelona festival
Alex Foxen earlier in the EPT Barcelona festival

Alex Foxen opened to 12,000 and Joao Vieira three-bet all in for 127,000 from the big blind. Foxen called for his last 123,000.

Alex Foxen: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Joao Vieira: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Foxen was behind and flopped a gutshot straight draw on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} with Vieira flopping top pair. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river the {8-Diamonds} and Foxen was eliminated.

Reixach Sends Higgs Packing

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sergi Reixach and Sam Higgs got all of their chips in the middle in one of the first hands after the break. Higgs was at risk for a little under 100,000 and would need some help.

Sergi Reixach: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Sam Higgs: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} to give both players a pair but Reixach's kicker was in the lead. The {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {3-Spades} on the river provided no help for Higgs as he was eliminated.

Break Time

Level 8 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The tournament clock is currently reading a total of 72 entries with just half of the field remaining. The players are heading on another 15-minute break and late registration will close once the cards are back in the air.

Unkind Welcome for Ferreira

Level 8 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Luc Greenwood raised it up from early position and Rui Ferreira piled his fresh stack of around 100,000 chips into the middle after just taking his seat. The action folded back to Greenwood who quickly called to put Ferreira at risk.

Luc Greenwood: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Rui Ferreira: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} put Ferreira in the lead with a pair of aces but the {k-Hearts} on the turn quickly ruined his hopes. Ferreira was drawing dead to the {2-Hearts} on the river and Greenwood added to his growing stack.

Double Elimination Boosts Pardo

Level 8 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Linus Loeliger raised under the gun and Charlie Carrel moved all in. Juan Pardo re-raised all in from the big blind and Loeliger called.

Linus Loeliger: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Charlie Carrel: {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Juan Pardo: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Pardo had woken up with aces in the big blind with both of his opponents having over 100,000 in chips. And although both of his opponents flopped pairs, the {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Spades} favoured only one player and Pardo sent both players to the rail.

Greenwood Coolers Thorel, Bicknell Eliminated

Level 8 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Kristen Bicknell was all in but had a chance to quadruple her short stack with a little over 40,000 in the main pot. There was also a side pot of 60,000 up for grabs and three players were still alive in the hand.

The board read {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Jean-Noel Thorel checked from the big blind. Sam Greenwood moved all in for 99,000 in the hijack and Daniel Dvoress tank-folded in the cutoff. Thorel quickly called and Greenwood turned over {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a full house. Thorel could only muster {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flush while Bicknell's {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} sent her to the rail.

Bingo, Bango!

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Michael Zhang raised it up on the button and Mike Watson defended from the big blind. The flop came {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Watson check-called a bet from Zhang.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and Watson checked again. Zhang tossed in a bet of 30,000 and Watson check-raised to 80,000. Zhang called and the {8-Diamonds} hit the river. Watson shoved all in for 86,000 and Zhang flicked in a chip to call. Watson turned over {9-Spades}{6-Spades} for a straight on the river while Zhang's {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} went into the muck.

"Bingo, Bango!" came from Louis Nyberg as he leaned back in his chair.

"That is a Bingo, Bango," Zhang confirmed.
