Chin Wei Lim Leads EPT Barcelona 25,000 6+ Hold'em High Roller
The first-ever 25,000 6+ Hold'em High Roller at the 2019 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona attracted a total of 23 entries generating a prize pool of over 550,000. Expect that number to increase further still, with late registration and unlimited re-entry here in Barcelona open until the start of Day 2.
From the starting field, just 12 players remain in with a shot of being crowned the inaugural champion tomorrow, with Chin Wei Lim in pole position.
He bagged 903,000 to be well clear of Yake Wu (680,000) in second place. Then comes Sam Greenwood (389,000) and Mike Watson (268,000).
Dario Sammartino is the only previous winner of a 6+ Hold'em event on the European Poker Tour, but his start to the 25,000 High Roller was far from ideal, busting all three of his bullets and having to re-enter in around 30 minutes.
However, his second bullet went a lot better and he bagged 221,000
Mikhail Rudoy needed three bullets before eventually bagging up 153,000, with Daniel Dvoress (132,000), Cary Katz (162,000), Borys Turista (100,000) and Isaac Haxton (186,000) all firing twice before making it through.
Players who failed to bag on Day 1 included Sam Higgs, Seth Davies and Ahadpur Khangah but they may still opt to jump back in before play resumes on 26th August at 12 p.m.
