El Kallas Talks Himself Into a Fold
There was around a half-million in the middle on a board of and David Katav had a bet of 325,000 in front of him from the big blind. Action was on Patrick El Kallas, who was under the gun and in the tank.
"I beat nines; I beat sixes. That's about it. A flush, I lose. A straight, I lose," said El Kallas, resulting in a couple of players at the table beginning to laugh. El Kallas vocalized more of his thought process thereafter, saying that Katav had called just shy of 150,000 on the flop and then checked the turn. He tried to make sense of if the line was done with a draw or with a set that Katav was turning into a bluff.
Eventually, he settled on the former, turning over to fold his set of jacks face-up, resulting in Katav taking down the pot.
