Tang Eliminates Petrangelo with Set vs. Two Pair

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Danny Tang opened for 6,500 from under the gun and was called by both Henrik Hecklen on the button and Nick Petrangelo in the big blind.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and action checked around.

On the {k-Hearts} turn, Tang put out a bet of 13,000 and Hecklen called. Petrangelo then raised to 43,000, leaving himself with about 50,000 behind. Tang would use a time bank chip before going over the top of both of his opponents. Hecklen got out of the way and Petrangelo looked defeated as his head sank and he mustered a wry smile before putting in the rest of his stack.

Nick Petrangelo: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Danny Tang: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Tang had flopped a set while Petrangelo flopped two pair and was drawing stone dead. The {5-Diamonds} completed the board.

Smith Falls Victim to Addamo

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Dan Smith shoved the rest of his stack of around 30,000 and was quickly called by chip leader Michael Addamo, putting Smith at risk of elimination.

Dan Smith: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Michael Addamo: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Although Smith had Addamo essentially dominated, he could not escape Addamo's heater as the flop came {5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Addamo a big lead. The {8-Hearts} gave Smith some hope as he could then hit a ten for a straight along with his queen outs.

But the river {7-Hearts} did not do it for Smith and he was sent to the rail as Addamo increased his already impressive chip lead.

Benitez Doubles Up Through Petrone

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Ramiro Petrone opened for 6,000 from the cutoff and Francisco Benitez called from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} and both players tapped the table.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Benitez put in a bet and, after using a time bank chip, Petrone shoved over the top of the Uruguayan. Benitez called rather quickly and cards went on their backs.

Francisco Benitez: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Ramiro Petrone: {k-Spades}{5-Spades}

Petrone was visibly annoyed when Benitez showed that he had also turned a king with a better kicker.

Petrone was unable to improve on the {2-Diamonds} river and Benitez stayed alive in the hunt for his third title of the series.

Petrone Shoves to Take Down Big Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a heads-up turn board of {3-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Ramiro Petrone bet out 31,000 into the already large pot. After a few moments, Tom Orpaz made the call from early position.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Petrone paused for a few seconds before he announced that he was all in and Orpaz promptly folded.

Addamo Eliminates Watson and Seidel with Pocket Aces, Soars Over 700,000

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Erik Seidel opened to 6,000 and was called by both Joris Ruijs in the cutoff and Dan Smith on the button. Mike Watson virtually shoved, putting 126,000 of his roughly 145,000 chips into the middle. Tournament chip leader Michael Addamo, from the big blind, moved all in over the top. Seidel also put his 110,000 total into the middle while Ruijs and Smith got out of the way. Watson called for the rest.

Erik Seidel: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Mike Watson: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Michael Addamo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Addamo was crushing Watson and Seidel with his pocket aces, which held on the {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board to eliminate the duo while taking his massive stack to new heights.
