Greenwood Gives Up on the River

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Marius Gierse raised it up from the hijack and Sam Greenwood three-bet to 20,000 out of the small blind. Gierse replied with a four-bet to 40,000 and Greenwood called.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Greenwood checked to Gierse who bet 18,000. Greenwood used a time bank and then check-raised to 55,000 which Gierse quickly called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Greenwood used another time bank before dropping in a bet of 50,000. Gierse still called and the {6-Spades} paired the board on the river. Greenwood checked this time and Gierse checked it back. Greenwood showed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a missed straight and flush draw while Gierse held {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for two pair.
