Mhiri "Still Alive" After Losing Race, Busts A Couple of Hands Later

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Chakib Mhiri
Chakib Mhiri

Chakib Mhiri was all in preflop from the hijack and Luis Celso was all in on the button. Mhiri had slightly more chips and so Celso was at risk. The hands were flipped.

Luis Celso: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Chakib Mhiri: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Celso hit to get ahead and held up to the river to gain a double. Mhiri thought he was busted, but it turns out he still has 35,000 chips to play with, which is now less than one big blind.

"Ahh, still alive!", he said.

But a couple of hands later he was forced to go all in, pushing across his last 35,000 from under the gun. He was called by two players and Alexandru Papazian held up with king high. Mhiri was eliminated and wished the other players "good luck" as he took his leave.

Play broke down to four tables.

Kyte Bounces Back With Aggression

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jon Kyte had locked up a double-up to get back into contention and was then involved in a heads-up pot with Brazil's Saint Yves Braulio Bianchetti. The latter bet the {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop for 150,000 only for Kyte to move all-in for 500,000 and force a fold.

Rebsai Doubles; Pitzanti Busts in Cruel Fashion

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sandro Pitzanti
Sandro Pitzanti

Mehdi Rebsai was all-in for 250,000 with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Sari Maalouf looked him up with an inferior pocket pair in {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

The {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board was a sweat with the additional gutshot but Rebsai stayed ahead.

Chakib Mhiri then pushed all-in for 245,000 from one table over and it folded all the way to Sandro Pitzanti in the big blind, who had a near identical stack.

Chakib Mhiri: {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Sandro Pitzanti: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and {3-Diamonds} turn provided no help but Mhiri spiked the {9-Clubs} on the river. Pitzanti's stack was counted and the 225,000 were covered by a mere half a big blind.

Idir Haiche
Idir Haiche

Antony Marchetti was all preflop versus Idir Haiche. Players flipped their cards and Haiche was the player at risk.

Idir Haiche: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Antony Marchetti: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}. It was a classic coin flip situation and Haiche was on the right side of it, holding up on the flop and turn before Marchetti hit his pair of kings on the river.

Haiche busted out in 35th place for 6,750. Marchetti, meanwhile, brought his chip stack up to over 1.4 million.

Di Blasi Jams At Wrong Time

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Julien Brouxel was eliminated and shortly after, Fabio Di Blasi moved all-in out of the small blind. He only had to get through Francesco Delfoco in the big blind but the Italian instantly called.

Fabio Di Blasi: {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Francesco Delfoco: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The undercards stood no chance despite making two pair on the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} runout as Delfoco claimed the chips and knockout.

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Rehman Kassam moved all-in with a short stack from under the gun with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and was called by Emil Bise in the big blind, who tabled the {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}.
