Grafton Holds On to Bust Faraut
Sam Grafton bet 5,500 from the hijack on a flop of 7?2?6? and Bryan Paris folded in the cutoff, but Patrick Faraut stuck around and called from the button.
The turn was the 3? and Grafton led out for another 10,000. Faraut then moved all in for 52,000.
"Tough spot," Grafton said as he tanked for more than a minute while cameras surrounded the table. He eventually called and turned over 8?8?, finding himself ahead of Faraut's A?5?.
Grafton needed to avoid Faraut's straight and flush draws on the river as the dealer turned over the K?, securing the pot for Grafton. The stacks were counted down and Grafton barely had Faraut covered, sending him to the rail. "Unlucky, sir," Grafton told Faraut.
"Such a nitroll. I should've done this. Eights, let's go," Grafton said, motioning as if he was slamming his chips in the middle.
EPT Barcelona champ and Grafton's now-fellow Team PokerStars Pro Simon Wiciak has recently joined this table.
