On a 9?3?2? flop, Kaverman check-raised from 12,000 to 36,000 with his overcards and Barer flat-called with the flush. The 10? turn gave Kaverman an open-ended straight draw and he checked. This time, Barer checked back and the 8? river gave Kaverman a worthless queen-high straight.
Kaverman bet only 45,000 into 133,000 and Barer then bumped it up to 201,000. The reluctant call by Kaverman followed and Barer more than made up for losing the previous big pot to the High Roller regular.
