The players are being served dinner at the table, I will try to resist using the chips with everything joke, but I will fail! Soren Konsgaard has just been eliminated, all in preflop AA Vs KK, Konsgaard held the kings to Dag Mikkelsen's aces and could not improve. Mikkelsen is now sitting on 40,000 and is chip leader.
140 Players remain on Day 1A of the London EPT and the average chip count is 12,600. Some counts:
Jeff Kimber 15,000
Johnny Lodden 21,000
Dave Colclough 14,000
Willie Tann 8,000
Dario Minieri 22,000
Paul Gourlay 3,500
Andreas Hoivold 18,000
Martin Wendt 25,000
Jeffrey Lisandro 24,000
Devilfish 15,000
Mark Vos 15,000
Dag Martin Mikkelsen 42,000
Just after the level up, a short-stacked Dan Smith doubled back to his starting stack. Smith called a late-position raise in the big blind.
Flop came , Smith bet 1,000, opponent called.
Turn came , Smith checked, opponent moved all in and Smith called.
Smith shows for top pair.
Opponent shows for the up and down and misses on the river.
An interesting table sees Jani Sointula, Barny Boatman, Devilfish and Michael Greco battling it out. I can't see Vicky Coren anywhere so we might have lost last year's winner. I will try to get confirmation.
I had a look at Dave Ulliott's table and really wish I had gotten there a minute later as he folded up a napkin to do his Madonna with pointed bra impression. Classy!
He and Vos have both been moved to Liam Flood's table where each hand is now taking three times longer than before as they both battle verbally for table captaincy under the watchful eye of Flood - the schoolmaster - who is back down to 11,000 and looks rather cross.
Flood left the table to cool off and the rumors are that he's had a word with the TD about the childish goings-on at his table.
