Barer and Erkenov Play Zillion-Chip Pot
Ami Barer opened the button to 48,000, and Dylan Linde quickly folded his small blind. Ismail Erkenov in the big blind made the call though, and they were off to see a flop: .
Erkenov checked to Barer and the Canadian made a 60,000 continuation bet. Erkenov called.
So far, nothing really special, but on the turn things got heated. The made Erkenov check again, and Barer continued his aggression with a 144,000 bet. Erkenov answered with a check raise to 350,000. Barer made the call.
The completed the board, and Erkenov wasn't backing down. He grabbed a bunch of 25,000 chips, counted them, and slid them forward in one big tower worth 575,000.
Barer had a tough decision, and at some times looked physically in pain by it. Minutes past with Barer in the tank, but eventually he took 100,000 worth of 25,000 chips, and slammed them across the line to indicate the call.
"Nice hand" said Erkenov after he showed for nothing much of anything. Barer showed and took down one of the biggest pots of the tournament.
