Trickett Smells a Dream Start

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Sam Trickett sat down and won a huge pot off Isaac Haxton on his very first hand, despite distractions from Antonio Esfandiari.

Haxton raised to 4,000 from early position and Tricket was the only caller from the hijack. As the flop fell {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} Esfanidiari said aloud that Tricket might be the best smelling man he's ever smelt. He tried to get Philipp Gruissem over to smell him but he wasn't to be moved. Jason Mercier on the other hand was keen to smell, especially when Esfandiari offered $100 to prove he was in the top ten of best smelling men ever. Mercier then realised that Trickett was in a big hand and hovered while it played out.

Haxton continued for 7,500 and Tricket called before both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn. On the {j-Diamonds} river Haxton led for a massive 50,000 before Trickett raised to 155,000. The raise took Haxton by surprise but didn't scare him from making the call. Tricket opened {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a flopped full house and Haxton mucked.

Tricket then stood up and told Mercier to get in close for a smell. Mercier agreed that Tricket was a fine smelling man.
