Short-stacked Bond was far behind, raising the spectre of elimination. He was hoping to die another day, with the flop coming . The final two tables was no time to die for Bond, but the turn must have felt like the sky falling in as Obe paired up.

The river was not enough. Diamonds are forever, Bond wasn't and he was eliminated. He could still take a quantum of solace in the ￡7,200 payout for 13th place.
