Welcome to Day 1a of the main event for the latest stop on the Hollywood Poker Open Regional Tour. The Hollywood Casino Columbus is the host for the seventh and final stop for the series, which will culminate with the $500,000 guaranteed championship event next month at the M Resort in Las Vegas.
Saturday marks the first of two Day ones with a $1,115 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee. Last year’s regional stop drew 126 entrants, though with a more significant buy-in of $1,800. With the lower buy-in, a larger field will be expected this time around and two starting days have been marked for the reentry event, with the Day 2 restart scheduled for Monday.
Notable entrants expected are Hollywood Poker ambassador Chris Moneymaker, red hot MSPT pro Nick Pupillo (who took down Friday’s HPO preliminary event), WPT champ Shawn Cunix and Nick Guagenti (who topped a big field in last week’s HPO $50k guarantee).
