The $500 PLO Championship Event from Lone Star Poker Series at Prime Social was a huge success. The field of 85 runners grew the $10,000 guarantee up to a shocking amount of 36,550! The first-place prize ended up being larger than the published guarantee for the event!

PLO is definitely alive and well in Houston, Texas. The final table had some impressive names including three-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Rep Porter and WSOP Circuit ring winner with $2.3 Million in live earnings, Dejuante "DJ" Alexander. Alexander's final table appearance was really special as he was born and raised in Houston, graduating from Hastings High School.

In the end, the big names fell away and it was just Mehmet Cetinkaya and Christopher Authement battling for the money and the Trophy Belt Buckle. While Authement came to the final table as the chip leader, he could not hold on in the end.

Cetinkaya hit a straight on the river of the final hand to lock up the win. Cetinkaya scored his second cash of the Lone Star Poker Series and more than doubled his previous Hendon Mob cashes in one event. The Main Event begins Friday, October 30th and hopefully, Cetinkaya can find one more deep run before the Lone Star Poker Series wraps up this weekend.

Congrats to Mehmet Cetinkaya!

Jason Lang
Jason Lang

Our bubble boy is Jason Lang going out 12th, just one shy of the money in the Lone Star Poker Series $500 PLO Championship.

On the {7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} board, Lang went all in and was called by Mehmet Cetinkaya.

Lang: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Cetinkaya: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Lang had outs but the River - {8-Spades} was not what he was looking for.

PokerNews will have chip updates once we are at the final table.

Zulifeiya Finds A Miracle River Card

On a board of {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, two players were all in with Abulaiti Zulifeiya at risk against Andrew Dennis.

Dennis: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Zulfeiya: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

With one card to come, it appeared that this would result in a chop pot...until the river card came.

River: {5-Clubs}

It took a moment for the players at the table to see that the two pair was beat when Zulfeiya rivered a club flush.

Zulifeiya appeared very happy to not get the chop but instead, double up deep in the PLO Championship.
