Stein Gets There... Again

"Ladies and gentlemen, Sam Stein," came the call from the gallery after Stein took down another pot. The pot was raised pre-flop and contested between Daniel Clemente and Stein. On a flop of {2-Clubs} {k-Clubs} {k-Spades} Clemente led out for 250,000. Stein called.

The {8-Hearts} turn was "second verse, same as the first". Clemente bet 475,000 and Stein called.

The river put a third king on the board, {k-Diamonds}. Clemente checked, then called Stein's bet of 750,000. Stein showed down {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} for kings full of jacks. Clemente smiled, shook his head, and open-folded {2-?} {2-?}. He flopped a small full house and was counterfeited by the board.

The Stein train marches on.

Paredes Pressures Jamal

Yunus Jamal opened to 230,000. David Paredes quickly moved all in from the small blind. Jamal asked for a count and folded when he learned he'd have to call another 1.675 million. It seems like Jamal gets three-bet after most of his raises and either folds preflop or is pushed out on another street.

Thomas Fuller Eliminated in 6th Place ($144,639)

Thomas Fuller - 6th Place
Thomas Fuller - 6th Place
It happened very quickly. Daniel Clemente opened with a raise, Thomas Fuller moved all in and Clemente snap-called. That couldn't have been good news for Fuller. Cards, gentlemen!

Fuller: {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}
Clemente: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}

Fuller, the player at risk of elimination, remained seated at the table. Clemente, along with most of the gallery, stood up to await the flop. It came {3-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts}, very bad news for Fuller. He was left with only the remaining two jacks as potential savior cards. But the turn {7-Diamonds} and river {6-Diamonds} sent him to the rail in 6th place, collecting $144,639.

Mount Stein Growing

Tom Marchese opened with a raise to 225,000. Sam Stein was in the small blind and reraised to 655,000. Thomas Fuller moved out of the way from the big blind and then action fell back on Marchese. He took only a few seconds to fold his hand and Stein picked up some more chips to add to his mountain.

Jamal Shuts Down After One Barrel

It looks like Yunus Jamal decided he would fire one time in a pot against David Paredes. Paredes was the pre-flop raiser, with Jamal calling from the blinds. Both players checked a flop of {6-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {k-Spades}. When the turn came {4-Diamonds}, Jamal led out for 230,000. That bet wasn't enough to shake Paredes; he called to the {6-Clubs} river. Jamal checked and then folded to a bet of 600,000 from Paredes.

Another Pot for Stein

Sam Stein and Tom Marchese both checked an {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {J-Hearts} flop. Sam bet out 160,000 on the {3-Diamonds} turn, and Marchese made the call. The river was the {5-Clubs}, and this time Stein fired 410,000. That was enough to merit a fold from Marchese, and Stein picked up even more chips.

Stein Finds Value With Third Pair

David Paredes and Sam Stein are the two most active players at the table. They hooked up in a pot that was opened pre-flop by Paredes for 200,000. Stein called from the big blind.

Action checked all the way to the river, {J-Hearts} {2-Spades} {9-Spades} {7-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. Stein fired 330,000 there and was called by Paredes. We don't know what Paredes had; he mucked after Stein showed {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades} for two pair, nines and sevens.
