Tesseire Gets In Again

We pick up the action on the flop with the board showing {5-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {10-Spades}. Claudio Rinaldi puts out a bet of 300,000, and Antonin Tesseire moves all in for a small amount more. Rinaldi makes the call, tabling {Q-Spades} {4-Spades}. Tesseire shouts something in French as he turns over {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}, in good shape to double up.

Fourth and fifth streets are the {10-Clubs} and {K-Clubs} respectively, and Tesseire does indeed win the pot, doubling his way up over 800,000 chips.

Narboni Moving Up

Under the gun, Philippe Narboni put in a raise, possibly to 165,000. [Removed:133] called, as did Alain Roy from the small blind.

The three-way flop showed up {8-Spades} {3-Hearts} {7-Spades}. Roy checked, and Narboni continued out with a bet. [Removed:133] made a small raise, prompting Roy to fold. When action came back to Narboni, he announced, "Tapis," and pushed his entire stack forward. Cournut went into the tank for several minutes, shooting glances over at his opponent and eyeballing his stack. Finally, he decided to surrender his hand, and Narboni drags down a nice pot with no showdown.

Final Table Chip Counts

Due to the restrictions of getting onto the TV Set, these are as accurate as we can be from distance:

Alain Roy - 2,300,000
Stephane Bazin - 2,120,000
Jean Philippe Rohr - 1,520,000
Claudio Rinaldi - 1,500,000
Philippe Narboni - 1,000,000
[Removed:133] - 620,000
Antonin Tesseire - 600,000

Narboni Turns an Ace

Claudio Rinaldi came in raising to 130,000. Philippe Narboni gave him some action from the blinds, and the two men went to the board heads up.

The flop came {5-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, and both men checked.

Fourth street was the {A-Diamonds}. Narboni led out into the pot with 170,000 chips. Rinaldi made the call without much delay.

The last card was the {8-Diamonds}, putting a pair on board. Narboni again led out with a bet, though the amount is unclear. Rinaldi called, and Philippe Narboni showed the winning {A-?} {J-?}, taking down a nice little pot at showdown.

Antonin Tesseire Moves In

[Removed:133] opened with a raise to 120,000. Antonin Tesseire stood up and said, "Tapis!" moving all in. Jean Philippe Rohr tanked for a while before folding, as did Cournut, sending a nice little stack-builder over to the native Frenchman.

Antonin Tesseire is the overwhelming crowd favorite here today. While he was all in awaiting the other players' decisions, Tesseire strolled casually around the stage, talking to the spectators in French. We're not exactly sure what he was saying, but he was apparently putting on quite a comedy routine, drawing boisterous laughter from his supporters several times. Some of his fans are directly behind our reporting table, and our ears are still ringing from their loud cheering.

Michel Abecassis Eliminated in 8th Place ($111,278)

Michel Abecassis - 8th Place
Michel Abecassis - 8th Place
The action for this hand is somewhat cloudy, but here's what we could gather:

It appears that Claudio Rinaldi opened the action from early position with a raise to 110,000. The table passed around to the short-stacked Michel Abecassis who moved all in for the second time here in the early going. Rinaldi instantly called, putting Abecassis at risk of elimination. The hands were shown down:

Abecassis: {7-Spades} {7-Clubs}
Rinaldi: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}

Abecassis stood up while the dealer determined his fate, spreading out the board: {2-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {A-Clubs}. Unable to catch any help from the community cards, Michel Abecassis shook the hands of his opponents and made his way to the rail as the spectators applauded his efforts. For his work, he will pocket a respectable $111,278.

Abecassis First to Shove

The shortest stack at the final table belongs to Michel Abecassis and he's wasting no time putting his chips in action. On the third hand of play, Abecassis moved all in from under-the-gun and successfully took down the blinds and antes -- a play that earned him 92,000 in chips.
