Cheong Wins One, Pushes Leung Off another; Ace-high Good for Chan
There are still eight players in the running and while there has been no more carnage there are a couple of small pots that have played out recently.
In the first, it was Sam Cheong opening the action with a raise to 500 from the hi-jack, with Joey Wong (cutoff) making the call in addition to Aric Hui (big blind).
Hui checked the flop over to Cheong, who continuation-bet 600, with Wong the only caller. This slowed Cheong down some, and he checked the turn over to Wong, who bet 1,200 and Cheong folded immediately.
Chunkit Leung opened the action with a raise to 500 from middle position the next hand. Leung has been fairly quiet here so far today, but that fact did not deter Sam Cheong from making the call and it was heads-up to a flop of .
Leung shot Cheong a side-long stare as the flop came down, but with his hoodie up and Subzero facemask on Cheong was giving nothing away. Eventually, Leung chose to c-bet 600, which Cheong called once more and the hit the turn.
Leung decided to continue to see a believable story, firing again for 1,600 but Cheong was not buying it and quickly re-raised to 3,200. It seems Cheongs spidey senses are spot on as Leung quickly folded leaving Cheong to rake in the pot unopposed.
It was Fat Cheong Wong the man driving the action in the next hand, making it 550 to go from the hi-jack and picking up two callers C Wingkei Chan (cutoff) and Justin Chan (big blind).
Justin Chan checked the flop over to Wong, who c-bet 600 with Wingkei chan the only caller. That was it for the betting in the hand with both players checking the turn and river.
Wong turned over for queen-high, but this was not enough to beat Chans ace-high and he won a small pot.
