We caught up with Dory Zayner, winner of the inagural PokerNews Cup Main Event, and his wife Melissa, just after taking down the title and the $300,000 first prize.
Dory Zayner outlasted a field of 428 players from around the world to take down the Main Event of the inaugural PokerNews Cup. PokerNews Marketing Director Gareth Edwards and the Crown Casino's Tournament Director Brett Jones presented Zayner with his $300,000 check along with a stunning crystal trophy.
Though Zayner has only been playing poker for about a year, he came into this event confident that he could make the final table. Along the way, he outlasted a stacked field including some of Australia's top pros and WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Hachem. His beautiful wife was on hand to watch him win the title, though it was well past his 11-month-old daughter's bedtime.
