A Strong Lineup For Today's Final Table

We have a very solid lineup for today's final table of the H.O.R.S.E event, with players bringing a healthy resume of results and experience to the table.

Abel Cabrera final tabled the H.O.R.S.E event at the Joe Hachem Deep Stacked Series at Crown Casino in February this year, while Steve Topakas claimed a victory in the Seven Card Stud morning series event at last year's PokerNews Cup.

Karib Karib also final tabled the H.O.R.S.E event at last year's PokerNews Cup, when the buy in was $1,100, while Andrew Demetriou is Crown Poker's Player of The Year for 2007/08.

Graeme Putt probably has the longest resume at the final table, with years of experience in mixed games that culminated in a 2nd place finish in the Mixed Stud event at this year's 2008 Aussie Millions.

The Cards Are In The Air!

The players have now unbagged their chips and the cards are in the air. We've just received word that the clock has been wound back to the start of Level 11 to give the players a little more game time.

Just a Few Minutes Away

The final eight players will be getting things underway a few minutes from now.

Abel Cabrera is making his second appearance at a final table during the PokerNews Cup. He first final tabled the $240 Pot-Limit Omaha with rebuys event yesterday, and will be looking to better his performance here. Sean Arazi comes into the day as a big chip leader, looking to eliminate any smaller stacks that get in his way of a first place finish.

Here are the seating assignments for the final table:

Seat 1: Kerry Stead - 20,000
Seat 2: Andrew Demetriou - 43,000
Seat 3: Graeme 'Kiwi G' Putt - 39,500
Seat 4: Nick Georgoulas - 83,000
Seat 5: Abel Cabrera - 64,000
Seat 6: Sean Arazi - 130,500
Seat 7: Karib Karib - 39,500
Seat 8: Steve Topakas - 56,500

2008 PokerNews Cup Australia Championships - Event 4 Final Table

There'll be no more horsing around -- theoretically speaking, anyway -- when Event 4's eight fine finalists take to the felt this afternoon to finish what started yesterday as a 1-in-77 shot at a $10,000 payday. Their odds dramatically improved one day later, the following contestants will return to the confines of the Crown Poker Room to determine who will walk away with the cash and the distinction of becoming the fourth winner at this year's 2008 PokerNews Cup Championships:

Sean Arazi - 130,500
Nick Georgoulas - 83,000
Abel Cabrera - 64,000
Steve Topakas - 56,500
Andrew Demetriou - 43,000
Karib Karib - 39,500
Graeme 'Kiwi G' Putt - 39,500
Kerry Stead - 20,000

Local boys Andrew Demetriou, Karib Karib and Graeme 'Kiwi G' Putt may be short in chips, but they're far from short on talent. Expect these old school Aussies to give chip leader Sean Arazi a run for his money straight out of the gate when play resumes at 4:00 p.m. later this afternoon.
