Breaktime

Players are on a short break while the dealers color up. The official recommendation from Pokernews is that they head out into the lobby and try the pumpkin and potato soup at the snack buffet.

Mumin Papa

Mmin ?zbek raised or reraised to 2,700 depending on what Luke O'Kelly had done before your blogger arrived; either way, O'Kelly pushed, ?zbek called, and they were on their backs.

O'Kelly: {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {3-Spades}
?zbek: {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

"Crazy German, giving away his chips," said the gentleman to O'Kelly's right. "I hope I can get in a hand with him soon."

Board: {A-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {9-Spades}{6-Clubs} {7-Spades}

O'Kelly's nines and threes took it, and he enjoyed a full double up, to only slight disappointment from the rest of the table.

Abbassi Steams Ahead

Englishman and Grosvenor Casino Walsall regular Ramazanali Abbassi is doing rather well. He picked up a chunky pot reraising all in to a 3,000 bet from Carlo Graziano on a {4-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} flop, forcing the fold.

A few hands later, I strolled by his table to see Michael Pesek go all in on the river of a {10-Spades} {5-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} board. "I call," said Abbassi, and turned over a quadalicious {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. Pesek mucked and headed for the delicious snack buffet out in the lobby.

Pace Setters

Mumin Ozbek appears to be your current chip leader with a monstrous 26,000, with Christian Steiner leading the chasing pack with 16,600. Also in contention is John Duthie with around the 12,000 mark.

Damp Squib for Wetemans

With a very short-stacked Jasper Wetemans all in for around 400, five players in total made it to the {7-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {A-Hearts} flop. Trever Neufeld liked the look of that flop a lot and bet 1,000; nobody else like it though and Neufeld and Wetemans were on their backs.

Neufeld: {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for the nut flush
Wetemans: {7-Clubs} {10-Spades} {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} for a very very slim draw indeed

Turn: {2-Diamonds}

River: {8-Hearts}

Out he goes.

Laverty Loving It

Gavin Laverty
Gavin Laverty
Gavin Laverty has doubled up again, this time courtesy of Klaus Dresl.

Dresl bet 1,000 on the turn of a {6-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} board, and Laverty raised all in for a total of 4,300. "I have a draw," he said helpfully. Dresl called, but it turned out that he was on a draw too.

Laverty: {K-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Dresl: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {5-Spades}

River: {9-Hearts}
