Two Pair for Luc Greenwood

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Luc Greenwood limped from the small blind, Nick Petrangelo checked his option from the big, and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Greenwood bet 40,000, Petrangelo raised to 120,000, and Greenwood called to see the {7-Clubs} turn. Both players checked, the {K-Spades} appeared on the river, and Greenwood led out for 250,000. Petrangelo called only to muck when Greenwood rolled over the {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for two pair.

Rocco Back in the Hunt

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Two hands have propelled Michael Rocco back up the chipcounts here at the three-handed finale of the $25,750 PokerStars Championship Bahamas High Roller.

limped to a flop against Nick Petrangelo and it fell {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Rocco bet 55,000 and it was folded. In the next hand, Luc Greenwood was the opposition for Rocco, and after Greenwood called a bet pre-flop, Greenwood called a bet of 110,000 from Rocco on the {6-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop.

The turn of {5-Clubs} saw Rocco make it 330,000 and that bet got through, bringing him a lot closer to his two rivals. With no deal having been done, all three men have their eyes still set on the $905,760 top prize

Byron Kaverman Eliminated in 4th Place ($335,020)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Luc Greenwood raised to 70,000 under the gun only to have Byron Kaverman three-bet all in for 835,000 from the small blind. Greenwood asked for an exact count, made the call, and discovered the bad news.

Greenwood: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Kaverman: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Kaverman was well out in front, and he stayed there on both the {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop and {2-Diamonds} turn. However, this is an elimination post, so you know what's coming. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {8-Hearts} river!

Greenwood hit his two outer to send Kaverman to the rail in fourth place. The final three players are now taking a short break to have a look at ICM calculations. We spoke to Byron Kaverman after his exit to discuss his incredible week at the felt.

"It's been insane, really. I've hardly seen anything of the resort, except for running on the beach."

Hang on, Kaverman ran good outside the PokerStars Championship cardroom too?

"I've run it four times this week. I felt too tired a couple of mornings, but it felt good. I just kept trying to keep my focus at the table all week and somehow it worked out. I ran super-good too, but I played OK."

To remind you of his results this trip, Kaverman finished fifth in the $100K Super High Roller event for $445,320, before hopping into the $5,300 Main Event during late registration. There he lasted until Day 4, finishing 28th for $19,000, before running to third in the $50,000 Single Re-Entry event for $452,220. He's just wrapped up his week by pushing his winnings up to over $1.2 million.

"I had a poor 2016, but this more than makes up for it. I'm just glad that I managed to hold it together throughout. I'm not really sure how."

Only behind Bryn Kenney's amazing exploits, Byron Kaverman has had the dream week at the live felt for a poker professional. He'll miss the Aussie Millions festival, not having planned to attend, but wherever he ends up next, you can be sure we'll be looking for that first big result.

Petrangelo Picks Off Two More

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

The first levels of the day have gone especially well for leader Nick Petrangelo, who after stopping Nacho Barbero in sixth and Daniel Negreanu in fifth has collected four of five eliminations today.

With four left, Petrangelo has positioned himself well to pick off the first PokerStars Championship Bahamas $25K High Roller trophy, speculates the PokerStars Blog.

We have lost PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu in fifth place in the hand before the first break here in the Bahamas as the $25,750 PokerStars Championship High Roller is getting nearer and nearer a winner.

Negreanu made it 60,000 and Michael Rocco called. Nick Petrangelo raised, and that was enough for Negreanu to put it all into the middle. Petrangelo made a very quick call.

Nick Petrangelo: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Daniel Negreanu: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The flop of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} was an absolute sweat-killer, with Negreanu sarcastically observing 'Ah, good flop for me!" and after the {3-Spades} turn and {9-Diamonds} river completed the hand, the Canadian poker legend was shaking hands. All five players left the table, but only four will return.

Daniel Negreanu Doubles Through Michael Rocco

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Daniel Negreanu in the small blind and he moved all in for 340,000, which Michael Rocco called from the big.

Rocco: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Negreanu needed a little help, and he got it on the {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop. The {4-Diamonds} turn was safe for the Team PokerStars Pro, and the {4-Spades} river gave him the double.
