Hands #115-118: Petkov Plays the Hero

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Hand #115: Sebastian Sorensson completed the blind with {q-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Raffaele Sorrentino checked with {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The board was {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} on the turn and Sorensson check-folded to 1 million.

Hand #116: Sorensson raised to 2.6 million with {7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and got folds, including Lachezar Petkov mucking an ace.

Hand #117: Petkov completed with {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Sorensson checked with {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Both missed the {5-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Spades} and a {10-Hearts} fell. Sorensson put in a bet of 2.1 million that Petkov check-called. On the {6-Spades} river, Petkov checked. Sorensson bet 5.2 million and Petkov tanked a few minutes before calling with king-high, mucking when the tens and sixes were shown to him.

Deal Agreed

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

A deal has been agreed between the three final players. The numbers are as follows:

Lachezar Petkov: 917,347
Sebastian Sorensson: 887,043
Raffaele Sorrentino: 850,110

There will be 100,000 left for the winner to play for.

Deal Talk

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

"It's like a Spin & Go," said Sorrentino as the three players are discussing a potential deal.

Although the three want to keep playing, the shallow stacks and big payjumps are making it a high-variance proposition to continue without a deal.

Level: 38

Blinds: 400,000/800,000

Ante: 100,000

Hands #110-114: Nearly Equal Stacks Into The Break

Level 37 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante

Hand #110: Raffaele Sorrentino completed {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Lachezar Petkov checked {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Petkov picked up a flush draw on the {3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop. Sorrentino bet 600,000 and the Bulgarian called. Sorrentino kept firing on the {7-Diamonds} turn, betting 1,200,000. Petkov, with flush and straight draws, called a second time.

Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the river and both players chopped up the pot.

Hand #111: Petkov completed {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Sebastian Sorensson checked {J-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Both players missed the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop and Petkov took it with a bet of 600,000.

Hand #112: Petkov raised {A-Hearts}{9-Spades} to 1,300,000 on the button and won the hand.

Hand #113: Sorrentino completed {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} in the small blind. Petkov raised to 1,700,000 with {A-Spades}{8-Spades} from the big blind, and Sorrentino bought a flop.

Sorrentino hit top pair on a {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop and checked. Petkov bet 1,100,000, Sorrentino responded by shoving 10,400,000 Petkov quickly flung his hand in the muck.

Hand #114: Sorrentino raised to 1,300,000 with {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} on the button. Petkov called {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} from the small blind. Sorensson put in a three-bet to 3,250,000 with a mere {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, which got through as both players folded.

Petkov will enter the break as the chipleader, although all stacks are extremely close.

Brian Kaufman Eliminated in 4th Place (402,000)

Level 37 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante
Brian Kaufman
Brian Kaufman

Hand #96: Brian Kaufman moved all in first to act for 4.7 million with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and got called by Sebastian Sorensson, who had {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and a covering stack in the big blind.

The {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop was a whiff for Kaufman. A {5-Hearts} turn brought a pile of outs in the form of hearts for Kaufman. A {10-Spades} river was a brick, though.

Andre Akkari Eliminated in 5th Place (319,760)

Level 37 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante
Lachezar Petkov and Andre Akkari
Lachezar Petkov and Andre Akkari

Hand #95: In the first hand after the blinds went up, Lachezar Petkov open-shoved from the small blind. Andre Akkari called all in for his last 7,775,000 from the big blind.

Lachezar Petkov: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Andre Akkari: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The Bulgarian and Brazilian rail got on their feet to cheer for their respective champions. The {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop kept Akkari in the lead but Petkov picked up some counterfeit outs. The {Q-Spades} turn was safe for Akkari as well. Petkov needed an ace, queen, nine or five on the river to win.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and the Bulgarian rail exploded. Akkari's deep run finally came to an end in fifth place. The popular Team PokerStars Pro said his goodbyes as he walked off the stage.

After receiving support from his countrymen, Akkari headed for the payout desk to collect 319,760 in winnings. With the cash, Akkari surpassed fellow Team PokerStars Pro Felipe Ramos on the Brazilian all-time money list.
